New Motorcycle practical test from October 2008

You may have heard that the Driving Standards Agency (DSA) is planning to implement a revised practical test to conform with EEC legislation, which is due to commence in October 2008.

The local practical test centres at Bridgend, Cardiff, Merthyr and Neath will be closing and all tests will be conducted from new Multi Purpose Test Centres (MPTC) at Newport and Swansea.

This means the test will change from the present format of the controlled braking exercise (emergency stop), slow riding element and U turn in the road taking place on side roads off the test route. These will now be integrated into the start of the test at the MPTC off road area.

This is where we have the planning and practical know how to incorporate the latest changes into our programme. We are happy to announce that we have developed the facility and are able to recreate the exact carbon copy of the area to be used and all the space to practice and perfect the new exercises at any time of day, under all conditions at our training area at Llandow.

So there is no need to travel all the way to Newport or Swansea and queue for a timeslot of 15 to 30 minutes to practice with other training schools looking on, we simply practice at our convenience in our own safe environment which will give you more time training and not travelling! On the day of the final practical test we simply transport you and your machine to the test centre!

Our Instructors are fully aware of all the changes and some have already been to the DSA training and development centre at Cardington, Bedford to trial the new test. It is a new incentive for us to develop and pass on our skills to make you a more confident and experienced motorcyclist for the future.

Finally, do not concern yourself with having to travel any further distance or waste your training time waiting at an MPTC all those miles away, come along to us and get your CBT, Direct Access and new test practice all at the same facility.
